Bachelor of Information Management (BIM)

Bachelor of Information Management (BIM) is one of the popular undergraduate program designed by Tribhuvan University. There are currently 11 colleges running BIM program under the affiliation of Tribhuvan University. By the name only it is clear that this course consists of Information Technology (IT) and Management. This course is a blend of IT and management. BIM consists of 40% management and 60% Information Technology subjects.

Eligibility

  • You need to complete Twelve Years of education from any board recognized by the Tribhuvan University
  • Students must pass 12 in minimum of second division score
  • Students must appear and pass the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) exam conducted by Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. The minimum passing score is 40%
  • CMAT exam consist of 100 marks which is divided among the four sections
    • Verbal ability
    • Quantitative ability
    • Logical reasoning
    • General awareness
  • Admission in BIM program is based on the merit list.
    • 60% from CMAT
    • 30% from the marks scored in +2 or equivalent
    • 10% from the interview

Who should study BIM

These days the knowledge of management is not sufficient. Every sector is dominated by the IT. Without the knowledge of IT we are incomplete. So, if students wants to know the knowledge of IT along with management then BIM is the best course to study as an undergraduate program. Also students who are not sure whether they want to study management or IT can select BIM. In that case students can either choose IT as a career or management as a career after completing BIM. Most of the top managerial positions requires both the knowledge of IT and management. In that case BIM can be the right choice.
