Kantipur College of Management and Information technology (KCMIT) is located in mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu. It is running under Tribhuwan University’s new direction to enter into collaboration with private education sector to provide technically advanced education to the Nepalese students. Bachelor in Information Management is a program with a blend of management and information technology. KCMIT was established in August 2000 by the group of management educationist and IT professionals with wide knowledge and work experience in the fields of education management and teaching. Graduates from this program will have knowledge and skills to develop business information systems, analyze and design database, develop network internet applications, sound understanding of business processes, skill development in programming information system projects. Additionally, it also helps to understanding of principles and operations of business, importance of computer science in decision making activities of the organization.

Students interested in studying BIM, should have ability to think logically and creatively, aptitude for data analysis and information based decision making.BIM is a semester based program so students have to be a continuous learner and team player.

There are all together 8 semesters (4 years) of studies in BIM. Total of 126 credit hours. BIM IT professionals can earn up to NPR 20,000 per month. The graduates have employment opportunities in public and private sectors as programmers, system analyst, network administrators, database developers, web masters, e-commerce programmers, information system project managers, software application developers other IT related as well as business professionals. BIM is a management field of study so graduates have options of doing post-graduate programs of management like Master’s degree in Computer science, Computer information systems and Masters in information technology. Extracurricular activities like seminars, IT shows are often organized by KCMIT College.
