Kantipur City College (KCC) was established on the year 2000. It is among the first colleges in Kathmandu to start Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) and Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) programs under the affiliation of Purbanchal University. Currently, KCC has added more programs like BE Computer, BE Civil, BE Electronics, Masters of Computer Application (MCA), Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism (MAMCJ), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Bachelor of Computer Application
It is four years eight semesters program of Purbanchal University that equips knowledge of range of competencies such as problem solving and analysis, business skills and software design and development used by Information technology businesses and industries.
Bachelor of Business Administration
It is four years full time program of 120 credit hours offered by Purbanchal University to provide knowledge, skills, attitude to function as managers of modern 21st century dynamic global environment. KCC also provides noncredit courses for training of soft skills besides the regular BBA program.
Bachelor of Civil Engineering
It is four years eight semesters program of Purbanchal University. It provides knowledge about engineering studies for constructions in public sectors such as roadways, canals, dams, bridges etc and new construction projects.
Bachelor of Computer Engineering
It focuses on designs and applications of computer systems and this program integrates Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in a 170 credit hours of studies of Purbanchal University. Bachelor of Information technology: It is four years eight semesters program that provide knowledge about fundamentals of Information technology, programming, computer network and telecommunication to produce IT managers, Network Administrators and system programmers in this field.
Master of Computer Application
It is two years program of 66 credit hours to acquire technical knowledge of software design and development, software development life cycle, distributed and web applications to work in Managerial positions of government, private IT industries and Business sectors. Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism: It is two years four semesters program with advanced knowledge and skills of communication and journalism.
Post Graduate diploma in Computer Application
It is one year two semesters 34 credit hours program that provides understanding of IT, Computer design, programming, data communication, web technology, data structure, database system and object oriented programming.
KCC has already set its standards by providing quality education in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. The college also provides professional courses to enhance the knowledge of students by providing extra courses outside of the syllabus. KCC believes in quality education and has been continuously working on its quality. Students studying at KCC can get a very good learning environment with the help of its experienced full time and part time faculty members. Students at KCC are engaged in various project work right from the second semester. By the time students reach the last semester they are competitive enough to start a job in various software companies.
Kantipur City College (KCC) also provides various scholarship schemes to attract students from various parts of the country. Students enrolled in the different undergraduate program can get the merit-based scholarship based on their High School percentage. Moreover, entrance toppers are also provided the scholarship. Students who stand the first position in their semester also get full scholarship on their tuition fees. Hence, various scholarship schemes are launched to attract and encourage students to do better in their studies.
Kantipur City College (KCC) has signed MOU with various software companies so that students of KCC can get good jobs in the software industry.
