GP Koirala Memorial College

Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial College was established in the name of a Visionary Congress leader and Prime Minister Late Girja Prasad Koirala and it was running as a Community College and got affiliation from Tribhuvan University in 2013. It is a nonprofit making academic committee to fulfill the national needs of educated, competent, qualitative human resources from their teaching in the academic programs.

Facilites and Infrastrucure:

Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial College strives in the areas of research work, skill development and vocational training, cultural exchange program among students, conferences, seminars, workshops, dialogues, lectures, field visits, internship, and job placements besides the regular academic programs of Tribhuvan University. Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial College has also gone online with Skype teaching and targets the welfare of economically poor, differently-abled students with scholarship funding. It uses pragmatic teaching methods for course dissemination with lecture and discussion method, student-centered method, task based learning and teaching, home assignment, monthly project work and presentations, individual and psychological counseling, multimedia technology. This College has a sound physical infrastructure with building and classrooms, library and computer labs, canteen and sports facilities.

Academic programs offered by Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial College:

Bachelor of Computer Applications: This is four years program at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science Tribhuvan University. The studies of this program produce high-quality users and developers in the Information technology and service sectors. It helps to build careers as a system analyst, system Managers, database administrators, and system designer.

Bachelor of Business Studies: It is four years program at the Faculty of Management TU. It equips with conceptual knowledge of business and administration and encourages entrepreneurial capabilities and is suitable for government and private jobs in mid-level positions.

Bachelor of Arts: It is four years program under FOHSS, TU designed to provide knowledge of social sciences, Management, and Media studies. It provides comprehensive knowledge of linguistics, Social Work, Geography, Psychology, economics, mass media, and journalism.

Bachelor in Education: It is a four years program designed by the Faculty of Education Tribhuvan University. It is an interdisciplinary subject to produce teachers in primary and secondary education. The course structure is divided into communication skills, professional core courses, specializations (major and minor).
